For over 20 years, Hope United Community development Corporation (HUCDC) has employed people and connected groups to help individuals achieve academic, financial, and economic success through our Bridge of Reconciliation, American Male Alliance, Connect to Success, and our Community Partnership Advisory Group.
Through our analysis of data concerning the mutually enforcing effects of poverty and food security on the primary social determinants of health, we have decided to focus our efforts and resources on the escalating issue of food insecurity within our region. We seek to develop and implement a robust regional economic development strategy centered on building a more vibrant and resilient foodway that bolsters equity within the cultural, social, health and economic practices related to the production, delivery, and consumption of food.
